Job Summary

As Assembly Technician you will be responsible for optical connector assembly, termination of various configurations of fiber optic cable assemblies, and testing of these cable assemblies.

Job Description

We are looking for an Assembly Technician . This position will be full-time and onsite in Middletown, PA. This shift is Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM .

 

What You’ll Do  

• Termination of various standard fiber optic termini as well new termini designs

• Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds

• Mechanical Aptitude to safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop/Soft Stop, identifying issues, clearing faults and acknowledging machines states.

• Assist in the estimation process step durations

• Assist in setting-up new manufacturing processes

• Suggest process changes to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies

• Communication within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction

• Soldering & PCBA Assembly skills for the following: Wire Harnesses, Connectors, Passive

• Components (Resistors, Capacitors, etc.), IC (Integrated Circuits)

• Use of Fiber Optic & Electronic Test Equipment: Optical Power Meters, IL/RL Test, Oscilloscope, DMM (Digital Multi Meter), Variable Power Supplies, Variable Attenuators, Optical & RF Switch

 

What You'll Need  

Required:

• Completed High School or equivalent

• Must have good time management skills to work on numerous projects simultaneously

• Attention to Detail (following BOM’s, Routers, and, understanding drawings/prints)

• Proficient Dexterity & Motor Skills for intricate/delicate work

Preferred:

• 2 years of experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory

Physical Demands  

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards  

• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.  

• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
