Job Description

James Kelly Law Firm, a well-established, multi-office civil litigation firm based in Peoria, IL, is seeking a dedicated, experienced Attorney to join our Peoria team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and a commitment to client advocacy. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, appearing in court, and advising clients on a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities:

* Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
* Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and motions.
* Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients.
* Manage case files from inception to resolution.
* Negotiate settlements and handle dispute resolutions.
* Stay current with changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.
* Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff.

Qualifications:

* Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
* Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
* 1–5+ years of legal experience preferred (depending on the role level).
* Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills.
* Ability to handle a high volume of cases with professionalism and efficiency.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience (Depending on Practice Area):

* Family Law, Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, or Corporate Law.
* Experience practicing in Peoria County and surrounding jurisdictions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,359.34 - $250,000.00 per year
