Job Title: Lead Architect – Camunda

Location: Austin, TX / Sunnyvale, CA (onsite)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Architect – Camunda to define and drive the technical vision for BPM projects using Camunda. This role involves leading solution architecture for scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems, establishing best practices, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Camunda BPM and a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and system integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the overall technical vision for BPM projects using Camunda.
  • Lead architecture design for scalable and resilient Camunda-based systems.
  • Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities.
  • Design and implement Camunda workflows, decision tables, and forms.
  • Integrate Camunda with external systems using REST APIs, Java (Spring Boot), and messaging platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize Camunda processes with robust error handling and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor developers.
  • Drive adoption of agile methodologies and support strategic planning.
  • Facilitate training sessions and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure infrastructure readiness.
  • Engage with external partners to explore complementary technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10–15 years of experience in software development.
  • Minimum 5 years in BPM or Camunda.
  • Proven track record in designing scalable Camunda solutions.
  • Expertise in Camunda BPM (BPMN, DMN, CMMN).
  • Strong programming skills in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
