Job Description

Role Summary:
The CFO is responsible for planning, development, implementation, and oversight of fiscal management, fiscal compliance, and financial software administration. This role works closely with the CEO to develop long-term strategic initiatives for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the financial management of the company, its subsidiaries, and managed companies including initiating fiscal management strategies to meet targeted objectives, and assuring coordination among organizational goals, long-range financial planning, and daily financial functioning.
  2. Establish and maintain appropriate controls to ensure internal and external compliance as required.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and recording of accounting data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  4. Oversee treasury management, including managing operating cash flows.
  5. Oversee treasury management policies and ensure adherence to these policies.
  6. Oversee preparation of interim and year-end financial statements for company and subsidiaries, including consolidated financial statements.
  7. Prepare fiscal reports, financial plans, and forecasts, including annual budgets and cash flow projections.
  8. Direct and provide support to the department employees in the planning and execution of audits and ensure that the accounting process is current and can accommodate timely completion.
  9. Oversee financial management software systems, procurement, and training.
  10. Work closely with other departments in the development and implementation of new systems for data collection, tracking, operations management, and reporting.
  11. Develop and implement accounting, administrative and fiscal policies, and procedures and ensure that they are effective and adhered to by supervising, instructing, and training Accounting Department staff.
  12. Prepare Board of Directors and Audit & Finance Committee meeting reports as required.
  13. Attend Board of Director meetings and facilitate the Audit and Finance Committee meetings including scheduling and minutes preparation.
  14. Perform other activities as requested.

Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree is required. MBA or CPA preferred.
  2. A financial executive with a minimum of 10 years related experience in managing accounting and financial staff in a private company setting.
  3. Experienced in multi-entity consolidations, corporate borrowings and contract review.
  4. Working knowledge of bank financing, audits, and ESOP structures.
  5. Must bring an intensity and best-of-breed business approach to the organization. Well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
  6. An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards.
  7. Ability to establish protocols and methods and train others in them; balances a hands-on approach with a strong ability to delegate.
  8. Effective written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
  9. A decisive individual who possesses a “big picture” perspective and is well-versed in systems.
  10. Expertise in merging data from multiple sources/software products.
