About the Role

The Company is in search of a seasoned Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with a strong background in consumer credit compliance, particularly in the area of credit cards. The CCO will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Compliance team to ensure that the company's consumer lending and credit card programs operate in full compliance with all regulatory requirements, and with a focus on risk mitigation and integrity. This includes maintaining a robust Compliance Management System, developing and managing a comprehensive compliance program, and handling all internal and external regulatory examinations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years' experience in the field, with a significant tenure in a banking environment, and a preference for those who have also worked in fintech startup settings. Key responsibilities for the CCO at the company include full ownership of the Compliance Management System, managing all aspects of the compliance program to meet the standards of regulatory bodies such as the FDIC and CFPB, and serving as the primary contact for regulated partners. The role also involves leadership and team management to ensure a culture of compliance and ethical conduct, as well as close collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into all business processes and product development. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer lending regulations, a proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs, and the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory concepts to stakeholders at all levels. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with advanced degrees or certifications being preferred.
