DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Conduct detailed valuation analyses on healthcare and life sciences companies, including discounted cash flow, public comparables, precedent transactions, and ability-to-pay analysis by analyzing financial statements and performing industry, market, and company research. Develop complex financial models to predict the implication of transaction structures, macro trends, and projection assumptions. Engage with clients to analyze and provide advice on strategic alternatives, capital structure, and financial policy. Create detailed healthcare industry landscapes based on knowledge of emerging healthcare and life sciences innovations. Draft teasers and investor presentations to articulate the transactions’ investment highlights, as well as clients’ competitive advantages, go-to-market strategy, and financial profile. Conduct due diligence on healthcare and life sciences companies based on relevant industry experience. Coordinate transaction structuring, and negotiations on documentation with clients, lawyers, accountants, and other advisors. This position requires up to 18% domestic travel and up to 2% international travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Investment Analyst, Operations Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related occupation with specialization in healthcare and life sciences. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Investment Analyst, Operations Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related occupation with specialization in healthcare and life sciences.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: deep understanding of healthcare and life sciences industry trends and knowledge of emerging businesses; financial and valuation modeling in Microsoft Excel; building models customized for nuances associated with the healthcare and life sciences industry; discounted cash flow models; leveraged buyout models; accounting statement analysis; public equity and debt securities; private market equity and debt securities, with a specialization in healthcare and life sciences markets; creating investment teasers, confidential information memoranda, lender presentations, pitch presentations, analyst presentations, and roadshow presentations; and corporate finance fundamentals, including investment and capital budgeting, capital financing decisions and dividends and capital return analysis.
