Cultural Resources Gis Intern

AtkinsRalis is seeking a Cultural Resources GIS Intern to join our Tallahassee, FL office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it's like to work in a professional environment and apply what's learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to geospatial analyses, data creation/compilation, and administrative processes led by other AtkinsRalis staff.
  • Processing and posting GIS data to online viewers.
  • GIS-based study impact assessments/structure counts.
  • GIS support for public meetings for public review of proposed changes to data.
  • Attend weekly online meetings to report on progress.
  • Georeference historic imagery and conduct general ArcPro Spatial Analysis.
  • Ad-hoc GIS analysis, mapping and support to client as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related technical field.
  • Education: Completed or currently enrolled in GIS coursework at the university level.
  • Special skills: Personal computer with GIS capabilities. Introductory GIS skills (Shapefile creation & manipulation, georeferencing, general data management).

Expected compensation range is between $23-$29 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
