About this position

We are looking for a professional to support the Portfolio Management and Analytics Team in business processes mapping, data quality, and testing. The Portfolio Management and Analytics Team is part of the Financial and Operational Management Division of the Risk Management Department.

The Financial and Operational Risk Management Division manages financial and operational risks of IDB Invest. The Division is divided into four main groups:

• Portfolio Management: responsible for overseeing the growth of the portfolio, considering concentrations and other risk parameters, providing portfolio risk guidance to the business areas, managing portfolio limits, RAROC, Economic Capital, Risk Management MIS, reporting and limit controls, and quarterly calculation of provisions under the CECL.
• Market Risk: responsible for the design, implementation, update, and ongoing execution of the Market Risk and Asset and Liability Management framework. The team identifies, quantifies, and monitors interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk of the balance sheet, and the price risk of the liquid investment portfolio. This group is also responsible for counterparty credit risk management.
• Model Risk and Capital Adequacy: responsible for the internal economic capital models, rating agencies models, and the model governance framework, including model validation.
• Operational Risk Management: responsible for assessing and maintaining an appropriate internal control environment, developing, and managing a full operational risk and ICFR frameworks as a second line of defense.

What you’ll do

The consultant will play a pivotal role by providing support to our team or being directly involved in the following deliverables required to achieve the main outcomes stemming from the key initiatives listed above:

• Business process mapping and documentation of the validation process detailing step-by-step activities, controls, and related governance.
• Document the requirements/responsibilities of all validators to address exceptions to the automated validation process to be reflected in the new automated solution and related governance and documentation.
• Define and document data quality alerts to take corrective actions, refining business rules/solutions.
• Design user test cases related to business requirements and controls.
• Provide detailed business process mapping as input to coding of the new platform for seamless deployment.

What you'll need

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in finance, data analytics, business administration, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. A master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Experience: Preferably at least two years of progressive relevant experience.

Technical skills: Proficiency in data analytics, validation and reporting, process automation, and report customization using tools such as PowerBi (or equivalent), Excel, SQL, and Python.

Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.

• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- International consultant: International consultant Full-Time, 12 months.
