WeareseekingaDirectorofEMEAGovernmentRelationstoleadourgovernmentrelationsactivitywithinEurope,theMiddleEast,andAfrica.UnderthedirectionoftheVicePresidentofGlobalGovernmentRelations,thesuccessfulcandidatewilldevelopandimplementstrategiestoadvocateforfavorablepolicies,ensureregulatorycomplianceandmaintainthecompany’spositiveimageacrossdiversepoliticallandscapesinsupportofrevenuegenerationforPublicSectorsalesinEMEA.Thishigh-stakesroleisidealforadiplomatic,strategicthinkerwithdeepknowledgeoftheEMEAregion’spoliticalandregulatoryframeworks.TheGRfunctionispartoftheNetApplegaldepartment,andthispositionreportstoNetApp’sVicePresidentofGlobalGovernmentRelations. Key Responsibilities GovernmentRelationsStrategy:Developandexecutecomprehensivegovernmentrelationsstrategiesthatsupportthecompany'sbusinessobjectivesintheEMEAregion. PolicyAnalysisandAdvocacy:Monitorandanalyzeregulatoryproposalsandpoliticaltrends,advisingcompanyleadershiponpotentialimpacts.Advocateforpolicypositionsbeneficialtotheorganizationanditsstakeholders. StakeholderEngagement:Establishandnurturerelationshipswithgovernmentofficials,regulatoryagencies,tradeassociations,andotherkeyinfluencersintheEMEApoliticalenvironment. IssueManagement:Proactivelyidentifyissuesthatcouldimpactthecompanyandleadtheresponsestrategytominimizerisks.Coordinatewithlegalandcomplianceteamstoensureadherencetoallapplicablelawsandregulations. Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:WorkcollaborativelywithinternalteamssuchasPublicAffairs,Legal,Compliance,andBusinessUnitstointegrategovernmentrelationsactivitieswithbroadercompanystrategies. InfluencerNetworkDevelopment:Utilizeandfurtherbuildhis/herexistingnetworkwithothertechnologyfirms,non-governmentalorganizations,andthoughtleaderstoshapepublicpolicydebatesinlinewiththecompany'sinterests. Communications:Craftmessagingandpositionstatementsonpolicyissues,preparingbriefingmaterialsforexecutiveleadershipandrepresentingthecompanyatpubliceventsasrequired. CrisisManagement:Providecounselongovernmentalmattersduringanyreputationalorregulatorycrisis,ensuringswiftandappropriateresponses. Job Requirements Experience:Minimumof10-15yearsofrelatedexperienceingovernmentrelationsorpublicaffairs,withaproventrackrecordofsuccessasaseniorgovernmentrelationsprofessionalintheEMEAregion.Experienceinthetechnologysectorishighlyregarded. Knowledge:ComprehensiveunderstandingofEMEAgovernmentalprocesses,regulatoryenvironments,andgeopoliticalfactorsinfluencingpublicpolicy. LanguageSkills:FluencyinEnglish;additionallanguageproficiencyinoneormoreotherlanguagesintheEMEAregionishighlydesirable. Communication:Exceptionalverbalandwrittencommunicationskills,withtheabilitytosimplifycomplexregulatorylanguageandcommunicateconvincinglytoavarietyofaudiences;experienceinpublicspeakerinfrontoflargeaudiences,seniorexecutivesandgovernmentofficials.
