JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT :  Special Services

JOB TITLE:  Elementary School Psychologist Assistant

____ Part-time  X  Full-time

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education Level:

   1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.  

2. Certification or Licensure:

   1. Nebraska Teaching Permit Preferred. 

3. Experience desired:

   1. Previous experience in programs for special education students is highly desirable

4. Other requirements

   1. Valid Nebraska Driver’s License

SUPERVISED BY:

Director of Student Services.

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:

Director of Student Services, building administrators, school psychologists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Frequent:

• Supports School Psychologists by collecting and managing data related to student needs.

• Conducts social, academic instructional groups to support student skill acquisition.

• Attends DDT meetings on a biweekly basis.

• This position may include Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) activities

• Conducts individual assessments.

Occasional or Periodic:

• Facilitate 504 meetings.

• Collects data for functional behavior assessments.

• Conducts observations in various settings.

• Attend monthly School Psychology PLC’s.

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory):

• Excellent written/oral communication skills

• Establish and maintain working personal relationships

• Decision making skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Inside X  Outside ____ Both ____

• Climatic Environment:  Temperature and humidity varies in the different school buildings

• Haszards: Stairs, Driving from school to school, contagious diseases.
