Job Summary

Our Fireplace and Residential Door Technicians install and service the equipment associated with residential fireplaces and doors. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and safety in every job we perform.

Essential Functions

  1. Install gas and wood-burning fireplaces in new construction and residential retrofit environments.
  2. Install Garage Doors in new construction and residential retrofit environments.
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals related to fireplace installation and ventilation systems.
  4. Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components for venting systems, chase covers, and other fireplace-related components.
  5. Utilize hand and power tools, such as drills, impact drivers, saws, and shears, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company safety protocols.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and parts used.
  7. Ensure all work meets code compliance and company quality standards.
  8. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, project managers, and team members.
  9. Assist with warehouse organization, inventory, and other duties as assigned by leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of gas and wood-burning fireplace systems and garage door assemblies, including proper installation techniques in both new construction and retrofit settings.
  2. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schematics, and technical manuals related to fireplaces, ventilation, and mechanical systems.
  3. Skilled use of hand and power tools, as well as sheet metal fabrication and assembly techniques used in venting and fireplace installations.
  4. Knowledge of relevant building codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality, compliant installations.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and coworkers, along with the ability to maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Work in residential homes at various stages of construction, often alongside other trades.
  • Install products in both interior and exterior settings, sometimes exposed to weather.
  • Requires lifting of up to 50 pounds, tool use, and adherence to safety on active job sites.
  • Work safely and effectively on ladders and residential rooftops above 20 feet.

Travel

  • This job requires no planned business travel.

Education and Experience

  • High School graduation or equivalent is required.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in construction or HVAC preferred.
