Summary

The Hotel Revenue Manager will strategically coordinate the revenue management processes and procedures for the hotel to maximize revenue and profitability. This is accomplished by managing and maintaining group and transient inventory controls, developing, monitoring, and adjusting sales and pricing strategies for all revenue areas, analyzing demand factors, forecasting, and budgeting, competitive analysis, and maintaining distribution channel data integrity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify, communicate and execute opportunities to increase incremental revenue based on historical demand, regional, seasonal and competitive influences and market, group performance, price sensitivity by market segment, demand and reservation cost across multiple sales channels.
  • Manage and maintain group and transient inventory controls including, but not limited to, room accommodation and rate inventory controls. Work with the Sales and Marketing Leadership to manage sellout strategies and to maintain demand information.
  • Conduct forecasting, review all competitive shops, review demand, convention and city event calendars, maintain data on competitor products and maintain historical data on events and performance.
  • Research, identify and develop revenue management opportunities, techniques and practices that contribute to superior RevPAR growth and market share increase.
  • Analyze trends by market segment based on day of week, booking window and season to better develop pricing strategies.
  • Conduct a weekly revenue management meeting where the current 120-day booking period is evaluated for proper rate and availability control.
  • Update channels of distribution as needed with rates or inventory restrictions.
  • Receive all definite and tentative group bookings and provide the Director of Sales and Marketing with qualified analysis as to how each booking will impact occupancy, average rate and rooms profit over the dates in question.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of revenue.

  • 5+ years of experience working in revenue and/or hotel operations
  • Knowledge of hospitality sales and other revenue management functions to include research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations and yield management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability dynamically articulate and visually display data/strategies to various audiences.
  • Must be able to condense complex data into meaningful strategy
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills,
  • High energy and a positive attitude are a must. Guest service and team oriented

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree, Revenue Management, Hotel Management or Business Administration
  • Strong knowledge in spreadsheets, pivot tables and database use
  • Duetto, OPERA, SynXis, Delphi,

HOTEL REVENUE MANAGEMENT ANALYST

  • Assist with developing room rates, pricing, and strategy across all segments. Help optimize the mix of business through various distribution channels.
  • Prepare documents and reports for weekly revenue meetings. In addition, prepare weekly pick-up report to be submitted to both corporate and hotel property teams.
  • Assist with completing all month-end reports.
  • Assist the Revenue Manager and DOSM with preparing short-and-long term forecasts.
  • Ongoing audit of hotel's reservations on the books
  • Assist the Revenue Manager and DOSM in monitoring comp set rates and other market intelligence to watch and report demand patterns.
  • Ability to lead revenue meetings and effectively communicate strategies in the absence of the Revenue Manager.
  • Maximize revenue potential and ensure proactive and accurate maintenance and management of all systems: such as OPERA, SynXis, Duetto, and Delphi

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree, Revenue Management, Hotel Management or Business Administration
  • Must be highly analytical and able to understand statistics, apply critical thinking skills to understand and solve complex problems
  • Must be proficient in Excel and quick to learn and setup new systems
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, written, and verbal skills to articulate strategies and deployment to achieve strategies, present ideas, expectations, and information in a well-organized way.
