Responsibilities

• Able to set-up and operate manual for CNC lathe, engine lathes, surface grinders or OD-ID grinders with minimal supervision
• Must be able to set-up and operate tool room equipment including Jig Bore and Jig Grinding Machines. Honing, lapping, and EDM experience beneficial
• Can read and follow set-up sheets, operation sheets, blueprints, programs and/or drawings
• Meet production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and procedures
• Be able to troubleshoot and offer suggestions on how to resolve machining concerns
• Uses a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments 
• Able to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds, measures, marks and scribes’ dimensions and reference points
• Able to set and use all standard measuring instruments
• Ability to program, edit and modify programs as needed
• Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or VIP

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• Mathematical Skills
• Mechanical Skills
• Detail Oriented
• Time Management Skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of technical functions
• Knowledge of computer skills
• Ability to work well within a team as well as individually.
• Ability to communicate effectively
