In this dynamic position, medical scribes will work closely with physicians to accurately documenting patient encounters and medical histories. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure the seamless operation of medical documentation, allowing our medical staff to focus on providing exceptional care to our patients.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time positions

Successful completion of our mandatory orientation is required!

Compensation between $9-12/hour based on experience and availability.

WHAT IS A MEDICAL SCRIBE?

A medical scribe is a trained documentation specialist who charts patient encounters in real-time. Scribes will be working for clinic physicians and will be exposed to medical procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately document patient encounters in real-time during medical examinations and procedures.

- Transcribe patients' medical histories, physical exam findings, and treatment plans into electronic health records (EHR).

- Assist healthcare providers with charting patient information, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

- Organize and manage medical data, including lab results, imaging reports, and other pertinent information.

- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in documentation practices.

- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information.

- Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify technical terms and medical abbreviations as needed.

- Update patient records with changes in patient status, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.

- Monitor EHR systems for accuracy and completeness, making corrections as necessary.

- Facilitate communication between providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.

- Prepare and organize medical documentation for audits and reviews.

- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to maintain knowledge of medical terminology and documentation standards.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred

- Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare documentation

- Strong typing skills, with a minimum speed of 50 words per minute

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, such as EPIC.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment

- Strong multitasking abilities and ability to prioritize tasks

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures

- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals

- Flexibility to work varied shifts throughout the week, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
