About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take on a pivotal role in overseeing its comprehensive accounting functions. The successful candidate will have over ten years of experience in a similar position, with a strong proficiency in QuickBooks online and Microsoft 365. Extensive knowledge of grant accounting, particularly in the context of NIH cost principles and rate proposals, is crucial. The CFO will be responsible for the oversight of all general ledger activities, reconciliation of drawdowns with financial management software, and advising the President and Vice President on critical financial matters. This includes active participation in strategic discussions and board meetings to present financial reports and strategies. In addition to the above, the CFO will closely collaborate with external consultants for the accurate submission of various financial documents and will oversee an accountant/office manager in handling essential financial operations. A specialized segment of the CFO's responsibilities will be dedicated to managing financial operations related to grants, including preparation for and management of annual NIH audits, negotiation and monitoring of annual rates, and preparation of comprehensive financial reports for grant projects. The ideal candidate will also act as a liaison for auditors, ensuring all documentation is accurate and queries are promptly addressed. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, with a CPA being a plus, and experience with Payment Management Services (PMS) is also a plus.
