The individuals we support are in need of dedicated and committed Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Kent County area. We're looking for caring members in the community to work with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Typical shifts are four hours, or less, between 8am - 5pm M-F. Ideal candidates are willing to work with multiple clients M-F. No weekends. Compensated weekly. Up to $18/hour based on experience.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide our clients with one-on-one Community Participation Supports to acquire and maintain skills and integrate into their community. This role will work on individualized client goals such as: improving daily-living skills, communication skills, and socialization skills.

Responsibilities will vary from case-to-case but may include:

* Identify and engage in community and volunteer activities geared toward increasing independent living.
* Help the client create a support system in their community (ex. local resources, hospital, businesses, public transportation, etc.)
* Teach daily life skills (ex. money management, grocery shopping, maintaining a household, etc.)
* Work with clients and their families to create individualized goals
* Must complete progress notes after each shift

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
* Must be compassionate and willing to care for the well-being of others
* Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
* Must have a valid Driver's License and current insurance
* Must complete a background check and drug screen
* Must be willing to drive clients in personal vehicle throughout the community
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
* Must complete safety training, CPR/First Aid training, and pre-service orientation training
