Job Description

HGA is seeking a seasoned Terminal Operator to serve as the Primary In-Charge (PIC) at a strategic terminal facility in Apex, NC. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the terminal, including monitoring product flows, maintaining equipment, inventory control, driver onboarding, and supporting emergency response programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect and adjust terminal equipment to maintain optimal operations.

  • Coordinate with the Control Center to manage product flow, quality, and measurement.

  • Execute routine operations: terminal measurement, inventory reconciliation, driver training.

  • Support preventive maintenance, assist with repairs, and monitor equipment performance.

  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance; monitor facility conditions; execute safety programs.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, complete daily operational paperwork.

  • Supervise or coordinate onsite contractors as required.

  • Assist pipeline/terminal technicians and participate in emergency response and safety programs.
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical/trade training preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years work experience, ideally in the energy (midstream/refined products/terminal) sector.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude; basic computer literacy (MS Office).

  • Ability and willingness to work a rotating 12-hour DuPont schedule; respond to call-outs within 1 hour.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., working at heights, entering confined spaces.

  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills.

  • Demonstrated safety-focused mindset, dependable and self-motivated.
