What You'll Do:

  • Answer Emergency Calls: Handle 9-1-1 calls and radio communications for both Police and Fire departments with precision and care.
  • Coordinate Responses: Collect and evaluate information to determine jurisdiction, equipment, and personnel to dispatch; provide critical information and support.
  • Utilize Technology: Use a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to manage Calls For Services (CFS) and public inquiries.
  • Provide support: Offer calm reassurance to callers in distress.

  • Open Availability: Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to have operations 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure & maintain composure in high-stress situations.
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience ofworking with the public.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $20.45 per hour and will increase to $21.27 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please click on this link for compensation/benefits information.

WORK LOCATION: City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.

MISCELLANEOUS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to attend occasional required off-site training.
Must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Must be able to obtain MULES & PST1 certification within six (6) months of hire date.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with Police Department leadership in achieving those goals.
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to pass a background investigationand drug and alcohol screenings.
