At 0x , ourmission is to eliminate the complexity of accessing tokens and liquidity. This means indexing every token, solving for the best price, at the speed of each block update. We package all of this into a delightfully simple API that allows developers to monetize their apps via swaps.

Our API powers Matcha, Coinbase Wallet, Robinhood Wallet, Phantom, Rainbow, DefiLlama, MetaMask, Zerion, Zapper, and many more. Our customers all rely on 0x for their swaps, which is often a critical revenue driver of their businesses.

Founded in 2017, 0x has survived multiple bear markets and enters 2024 with a veteran team of crypto builders who know the importance of code quality, team cohesion, and a culture of learning.

The Role

As a member of 0x’s pricing team, you will be laser focused on delivering the best prices at the fastest speeds. The work is similar to that of an MEV searcher: gas optimization, liquidity discovery, low latency, and integrating with the best AMMs such as Uniswap, Curve, Integral, and Ambient.

As a Software Engineer on the Pricing Team, you will:

• Work with our smart contract engineers to design secure gas optimizations
• Stay abreast with the ecosystem and integrate new AMMs as they attract liquidity
• Optimize the speed of our algorithms
• Work with our research engineers to implement novel pricing algorithms
• Experiment with Reth for faster data indexing

0x BACKEND TECH STACK

The pricing team’s tech stack is mostly Rust, TypeScript and Solidity.

Since real-time blockchain data is critical for pricing, we also rely heavily on Reth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own entire features from specification to shipping
• Stay up to date with the nascent and rapidly evolving blockchain space. Developers at 0x frequently learn about and utilize new projects/EIPs to offer better UX, security, prices, and performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, including engineering (internal and external), design, research, data science, product management, executive leadership, and recruiting
• Be a steward and influencer of our engineering culture: focusing on simplicity, maintainability, and performance

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years+ of Engineering Experience
• Experience with TypeScript and Rust or similar languages
• Experience with software development best practices including code reviews, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), and automated testing
• Previous exposure to Web3/ Blockchain Applications
• Passion for the benefits of decentralization and the 0x mission
• US Compatible time zone

• Bachelor's or equivalent experience

PREFERRED

• Familiarity with API security & devOps
• EVM experience preferred but not required. Most of the pricing team joined 0x without prior EVM experience
• Production Rust experience
• High Degen Score

BENEFITS

• The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $230,000 + equity + ZRX tokens + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, location, business needs, and candidate preferences between the different compensation elements.
