Reddit, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in San Francisco, CA.
Job Duties: Design, build, and deliver highly available centralized monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure used by every engineer at Reddit. Leverage and augment open source technology to deliver a centralized system for viewing and understanding the health of Reddit applications and infrastructure at Reddit scale. Build high availability stateless serving and data consistency between multiple software systems. Work with high volume metrics and log data to build fault tolerant and highly scalable pipelines for observability data. Lead adoption of new observability tools and practices across the engineering organization. Build and scale the exciting features and services needed to create real-time experiences. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Reddit offices may be required.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any field) or related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Linux; (2) Golang; (3) TCP or IP; (4) GRPC ; (5) Code performance evaluations, and improvements; (6) implementation of application metrics; (7) design and implement features; (8) data collection, querying, and storage; (9) translating business requirements into code; (10) replicating and fixing errors in programs. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Reddit offices may be required
