Overview:
Unbridled Hospitality Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences across our diverse venues in Cañon City, CO. This role is pivotal in upholding our commitment to high-quality cuisine, innovative menu offerings, and outstanding guest satisfaction in a fast-paced, community-driven environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with advanced culinary expertise, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to mentoring kitchen staff while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Input and Control: Oversee inventory management across multiple venues, including ordering, receiving, and tracking stock to minimize waste and ensure cost efficiency. Implement robust systems for inventory audits and stock rotation to support Unbridled Hospitality Group’s operational goals.
  • Menu Costing: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and cost menus for our restaurants and bars, ensuring profitability while aligning with our commitment to quality and innovation. Analyze food costs and adjust recipes to meet budgetary targets without compromising flavor or presentation.
  • Culinary Execution with Superior Knife Skills: Demonstrate advanced knife skills to prepare high-quality dishes with precision and consistency, contributing to the diverse and creative menus across our venues. Ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards that reflect Unbridled Hospitality Group’s unique dining experience.
  • Training and People Management: Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff across multiple locations, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team. Provide hands-on training in culinary techniques, safety protocols, and operational standards to uphold our core values of character and community.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Maintain a current ServeSafe Certification and ensure all kitchen operations comply with food safety regulations and best practices. Conduct regular inspections and enforce strict sanitation standards to guarantee a safe dining experience for guests.
  • Assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and quality control, while stepping into a leadership role in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and accommodating dietary restrictions to meet guest needs.
  • Support a fast-paced service environment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals across our restaurants and bars.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 Years of Previous Kitchen Management Experience: Proven leadership in a supervisory role within a high-volume kitchen, with a track record of managing teams and driving operational success in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Must Have ServeSafe Certification: Current certification and a strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional knife skills and culinary expertise, with a focus on precision and creativity in preparing diverse menu items. Knife and culinary skills will be assessed during the hiring process.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated experience in inventory control and menu costing to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a passion for training and people management to build a collaborative and motivated kitchen team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-venue environment, aligning with Unbridled Hospitality Group’s dynamic and community-focused culture.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support our year-round operations.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hospitality group with multiple dining concepts and a focus on craft cocktails is a plus.
Why Join Unbridled Hospitality Group?
  • Competitive salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 with opportunities for career growth within our expanding hospitality portfolio.
  • Be part of a dynamic, community-driven company dedicated to reigniting hospitality along Main Street in Cañon City, CO.
  • Work in a vibrant environment across our restaurants, bars, and historic boutique hotel, with a focus on quality, creativity, and guest satisfaction.
  • Enjoy comprehensive training, employee discounts, and a supportive team culture rooted in our core values of character, change, credibility, and community.
