Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to excellence in the kitchen. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a positive working environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, creativity in menu planning, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper cooking techniques.
Participate in menu planning and development, focusing on seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
Ensure that all food preparation meets quality standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Handle special dietary requests and cater to specific customer needs as required.
Strong Banquet skills and the ability to work independently on banquet preparations is a highly organized, adaptable and skilled culinary professional who can mange complexities of large – scale event catering with minimum supervision, delivering exceptional food and service.
Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the culinary field.
Strong background in fine dining establishments or catering services is preferred.
Experience with banquet service and supervising kitchen teams is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and kitchen management software.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in the food industry is an asset.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
