Job Summary:


The Summer Camp Counselor will provide quality care in a safe and fun environment to camp children grades preschool thru eighth grade. Responsible to assist in the direct supervision of a large group of children along with group leaders and other counselors. This position involves high activity working with children in larger group settings, both indoors and outdoors. Must be patient, cheerful, fair, professional and courteous. Ability to communicate with parents as well as children is a must. Ability to handle emergencies in a calm and efficient manner. Must be energetic, creative, and exhibit a commitment to customer service and caring for children.


Job Description:

• Performs camp duties by properly caring for children.
• Responsible for keeping children safe.
• Responsible for keeping children disciplined.
• Responsible for keeping children entertained.
• Will keep all areas of summer camp cleaned and organized.
• Responsible for enforcing club and camp policies to ensure children's safety.
• Ensure proper camp forms/sign-in sheets are completed by individual parents.
• Will fill out incident reports and give to director in a timely manner.
• Will handle upset children and parents in a professional and courteous manner as well as communicate all information with the Camp Director.
• Attend all Friday field trips and to provide proper care while off the sight of facility.
• Other specific duties as assigned per Camp Director.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age with experience working with children in small and large groups.

Must have current CPR and first aid certification and or willing to obtain these certifications required by the state for a camp license.

Must be willing and able to obtain fingerprints mandated for a camp license.

Must attend mandatory pre-camp training date TBA

Hours/Days expected to work per week: Part-time and full-time work available Monday thru Friday
