Job Description

  • Location: Bedford, MA – Hybrid / Remote (primarily remote with onsite work 2 days/week as needed). Due to space limitations, they prefer remote work when possible
  • Contract Length: 6 months – potential conversion to full-time in early 2026.
A small bio-pharmaceutical company in the greater Boston area is expanding their Supply Chain team and is looking to add a Supply Chain Manager (Contract) to their team for the next six months (possible conversion in 2026) . In this role, you’ll implement a comprehensive supply chain planning and inventory management program in support of our client’s clinical trials (cell therapy). Ideal candidates will have prior experience in Supply planning, inventory management and supplier relationship with a background in cGMP requirements. Daily duties:
  • Develop and manage an End to End inventory management program through collaboration with external partners (Contract Manufacturing Organizations, External Biorepositories, Logistic Partners).
  • Develop and manage a detailed End to End MRP process including the establishment of risk-based inventory targets.
  • Develop and manage a Sample inventory management program in partnership with Analytical Development and Quality Control groups.
  • Support the S&OP process through End to End supply planning and scenario analysis
  • Support a Raw Material risk assessment for all raw material and consumables used in manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate the monthly Supply Chain scorecard update.
  • Support the establishment of a supplier management program including the development of a sourcing strategy and the establishment of Supply Agreements.
  • Develop a formal label management program.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate GMP controlled documents (i.e., SOPs, WIs, and Forms).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in inventory management, planning, or supply chain in a pharmaceutical or biotech company, especially in handling of cell therapy or other relevant products.
  • Extensive quality and compliance background in a clinical GMP operational environment, including a minimum of 3 years prior experience in commercial or clinical GMP environment.
  • Ability to execute strategic objectives by prioritizing tactical priorities - balance short term objectives and long term needs for maintaining a robust supply chain to deliver complex treatments to patients.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • A highly collaborative working style - experience building healthy, productive, and high trust relationships within your function and with direct stakeholders, inviting and sharing ideas and feedback, and productively challenging own and others’ assumptions to generate new ideas and facilitate better outcomes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize based on strategic goals of and the Supply Chain organization.
Preferred skills:
  • Strong knowledge of managing temperature controlled cold chains including 2-8C, -80C, and LN2 preferred: Prior experience in managing such shipments in collaboration with logistics partners.
  • Experience in autologous Cell Therapy Phase 1/2 company.
