Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Massachusetts with evening shifts and advanced certification requirements.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the PACU unit in a hospital setting
• Assignment is 13 weeks in duration
• 12-hour evening shifts with weekends and holidays required
• Call requirement includes one 24-hour weekend shift per month and three night calls per month (11 PM to 7 AM), with a 30-minute response time
• Care for post-anesthesia patients, including those on drips and ventilators
• Testing on ECG/telemetry and medications is required during onboarding, with one attempt allowed
• Responsible for post-anesthesia patient monitoring and care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and anesthesia teams
• Candidates should be prepared for frequent on-call shifts as part of department coverage
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the regular schedule
• Return-to-work policy requires a 6 month separation for previous employees or travelers
• Biweekly orientation offered

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years recent PACU experience required
• Experience with patients on drips and ventilators required
• Must pass ECG/dysrhythmia and medication knowledge tests with a minimum score of 85% during onboarding
• Influenza vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
• Cannot have worked in any capacity for the specified health system within the previous 6 months
