\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour night shifts in a 48-bed Progressive Care Unit
\n• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients), with extreme situations up to 1:6
\n• 36 hours per week can be offered with 13-week assignments available
\n• Required to float to like units within facility
\n• Weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks, with potential for more based on staffing needs
\n• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
\n• 24-hour orientation period required
\n• Minimum 2 years of experience required, accepts first-time travelers
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
\n• Preferred certification: NIHSS
\n• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
\n• Skills required: IV start, ventilators, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
\n• Work with special equipment including chest tubes, cardiac drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin), ventilators, trachs
\n• Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, pulmonary embolism
\n• Use systems including Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
\n• Dress code: white or navy blue scrubs
\n• Maximum RTO of 7 days allowed, with strict call-off policy enforcement
\n• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week

\nThis medical center operates a high-acuity 48-bed Progressive Care Unit that provides comprehensive care for patients with complex respiratory and cardiac conditions. The facility maintains extensive support resources including admission/discharge nurses, assistant nurse managers, vascular access teams, rapid response teams, and behavioral health teams. The unit features advanced monitoring capabilities with telemetry and specialized equipment for managing critically ill patients requiring step-down care between intensive care and medical-surgical levels.
