\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with 3x12 schedule (4x12 available upon request)
\n• 13-52 week assignments available upon request
\n• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block or every other weekend
\n• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (unable to approve Christmas time off)
\n• Patient ratio typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• EPIC charting experience required
\n• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
\n• 32 hours of orientation provided
\n• Care for stroke and neurology patients as well as general medicine overflow
\n• Manage IV drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, Ketamine
\n• Perform cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
\n• Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
\n• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, CPAP, BiPAP, and non-invasive airway management
\n• Handle special procedures including chest tubes, trach care, PICC lines, and isolation precautions
\n• Work with remote telemetry monitoring system with tele sitting support
\n• First-time travelers accepted but travel experience preferred
\n• Minimum 1 year of experience required

\nThis large acute care facility features over 700 licensed beds and operates as a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation. The facility is a teaching hospital affiliated with a medical school and offers advanced specialty care including bariatric, trauma, and surgical services. The Stroke/Neuroscience unit is a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center specializing in telemetry PCU care for hospitalist medicine patients including stroke and neurology patients.
