Basic Job Functions: Responsibilities for the Welder include but are not limited to:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
• Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operating flip rite.
• Operating transfers.
• Operating magnetic drill.
• Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
• Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues/concerns. Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidate will be required to complete and pass an internal welding test.Preferred Qualifications:
• Can read and understand weld symbols
• Can use an arc gouger
• Previous crane certification
• Previous experience in material handling
