Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Hotel General Manager to lead a newly redeveloped, elevated boutique hotel in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most breathtaking and restorative locations.

This brand-new, fully renovated property has been reimagined from the ground up — from the lobby and event spaces to every guest room. Designed by renowned hospitality designer W. Brian Smith, with the grounds and outdoor experiences curated by landscape design team Terremotto, the hotel is intentionally positioned as a health- and wellness-forward hospitality destination. Design, setting, and experience work together to promote balance, connection to nature, and a sense of renewal.

Perched dramatically on a cliffside, the hotel offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the Columbia River and the historic city of Astoria. The setting itself is a core part of the guest experience — calm, expansive, and deeply grounding.

This role is a rare opportunity for a hands-on, visionary leader to shape a wellness-oriented guest experience from day one. You will set the tone, build the culture, assemble the team, and define how wellness, service, and design intersect throughout the property. From arrival rituals to programming, this is your opportunity to create something thoughtful, intentional, and enduring.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including rooms, sales, and guest services
  2. Drive financial performance through revenue management, cost control, and budget oversight
  3. Lead and develop a team of department heads and staff members
  4. Ensure exceptional guest service standards and maintain high guest satisfaction scores
  5. Manage capital improvement projects and maintain property standards
  6. Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives
  7. Build and maintain strong community relationships

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of hospitality experience with minimum 5 years in management roles
  2. Previous experience managing boutique or lifestyle hotels required
  3. Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience
  4. Proven track record of revenue growth and profit optimization
  5. Excellence in team leadership and development
  6. Strong understanding of food & beverage operations

Required Skills:

  1. Outstanding leadership and communication abilities
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  3. Proficiency in hotel management software systems
  4. Excellence in budget management and forecasting
  5. Ability to drive guest satisfaction and team engagement
  6. Crisis management and problem-resolution expertise

We Offer:

  1. Competitive base salary
  2. Performance-based bonus structure
  3. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision
  4. 401(k) with company match
  5. Paid time off and holidays
  6. Professional development opportunities
  7. Travel opportunities within our growing portfolio

Schedule:

  1. Full-time position
  2. Flexible schedule required including weekends and holidays
  3. On-call availability for emergency situations

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to move throughout the hotel property
  2. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  3. May require lifting up to 25 pounds

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can maintain the highest standards of guest service while driving financial performance and team development. They should be passionate about boutique hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business needs.

To Apply:

Please submit your resume, cover letter, and references. Candidates should highlight their boutique hotel experience and demonstrated success in similar roles.
