The City of Littleton has an opportunity for a GIS Intern to join the team in a full-time or part-time role. This internship is expected to last through mid-May, 2026. The GIS internship is open for any individual interested in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the realm of Public Works. The GIS Intern will gain hands on, practical application experience in reviewing spatial data in the office and collecting data in the field. They will work primarily with the Asset Management team in the Public Works Department in managing spatial data for sewer, stormwater, transportation, and grounds maintenance features. This position may also work on other city GIS projects and utilize ESRI ArcGIS platforms with the GIS team in the city's Information Technology Department. This is a great way to learn about municipal work, get to know our Littleton team, and make connections for future opportunities. This position is not eligible for benefits other than sick leave. Hiring range: $21.38 - $22.50 per hour. This temporary intern position is non-exempt per FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Work Schedule: This position is available for both part-time and full-time schedules. The full-time typical daily schedule is 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a half-hour lunch. This schedule can be adjusted, as can the days and schedules for part-time work. The employment duration is six months, though this may be adjusted depending on availability and department needs. Hybrid work is a possibility, though most work will require being in-person.
