Human Resources Manager (permanent position) Milwaukee, WI vicinity

Our client is looking for a true Human Resource Generalist to be their HR Manager. The ideal candidate operates the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including:

  • Hiring and interviewing
  • Administering pay, benefits, and leave
  • Enforcing company policies and practices
  • HR compliance
  • Employee relations
  • Employee satisfaction
  • Compensation
  • Metrics and data associated with HR
  • Employee development
  • Payroll and benefits administration

You will wear a variety of hats on any given day! This is an exciting opportunity with a newly formed company (carve out of a larger organization). Join them to help set the HR organization from the ground up and be a part of a growing company. This is a permanent opportunity working on site in Mequon , WI . The starting salary is $75,000, but it can pay more based on experience and fit. No visa sponsorship, relocation assistance, or subcontracting arrangements are available.

Duties and Responsibilities of the HR Manager :

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Implements and administers employee policies and promotes positive employee relations
  • Provides support and guidance to leadership team and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute tasks in delicate circumstances such as investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, including writing job descriptions, recruitment and interviewing. Maintain relationships with employment agencies.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • May oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Requirements for the HR Manager :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of human resource experience.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PEOs, HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer-centric skills; the ability to manage multiple projects; and the willingness and ability to learn and grow in this position.
  • Human Resources certification(s) strongly desired, e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
