Our client near Bradenton, FL is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team. This is considered an entry level role and we are looking for someone who has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Any applicable engineering internships would be considered a plus. We need someone who has experience with 3D CAD platforms such as Solidworks, Inventor or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Level II and III engineers in developing design skills, focusing on large sub-assembly design rather than full machine design.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop design concepts, create prototypes, and refine designs based on testing and feedback.

• Use advanced 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor in a Vault Pro environment) to create detailed models and drawings of mechanical components and systems.

• Work closely with electrical and controls engineers to integrate mechanical systems with automation controls for seamless operation.

• Perform calculations for force, moment load, inertia, seal pressures, thermal loading, and other design constraints to ensure proper functionality.

• Create clear and detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, spare parts lists, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.

• Identify and resolve design and performance issues during prototyping, testing, and deployment of automation systems.

• Participate in equipment testing to validate designs and ensure performance criteria are met before deployment.

• Propose design enhancements, cost-saving measures, and innovative solutions to improve automation equipment functionality and efficiency.

• Learn and apply relevant industry standards, safety regulations, customer specifications, and company policies.

• Experience level: Entry Level

• Minimum 1 year of experience

• Education: Bachelors (required)
