Scrum Master

The Senior Scrum Master is a servant-leader for the Scrum Team and as this is an Individual Contributor role the Scrum Master leads from a position of influence. The Scrum Master helps the team to understand Scrum theory and values. They act as the conscience on the Scrum team ensuring team members live agile values and principles and follow agreed Scrum processes practices and behaviours. Scrum masters are committed to the Scrum foundation and values but remain flexible and open to opportunities for the team to improve their velocity.

What you will do

• Guiding the team and organization on how to adopt Agile/Scrum practices processes and values.
• Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution or being judged with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
• Facilitating getting the work done without coercion assigning or dictating the work & facilitating discussion decision making and conflict resolution & facilitating team ceremonies such as the daily stand-up sprint planning, end of sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
• Acting as the conscience of the team especially when evaluating Doneness or Readiness criteria.
• Supporting the team on the use of planning tools to enable tracking of progress with User Stories and Features via Sprint and Release Burndowns
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information & Acting as a shield for the team from outside distractions and interferences.
• Supporting and educating the Product Owner especially regarding scrubbing and maintaining the product backlog
• Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example & guiding the team on self-organization.
• Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
• Coach others to flow in the zone thereby identifying and compartmentalizing anxieties fears hindrances & coach the scrum principles methodology and processes for a scrum team

Who you are

• A bachelors or masters Degree in IT/Computer Science
• Quality experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles practices and theory
• 8+ years of overall experience of working in a Software Development organization (Aviation industry preferred)
• 5+ years of Experience in applying Agile Manifesto in the process of software development & delivery
• Experience in managing change in the production environment
• Knowledge of various IT tools and techniques for IT project planning and organizing
• Experience in practicing Scrum Methodology in the process of software development & delivery
• Scrum Master Certifications
• Facilitate the development of complex projects within the frame of the Agile DEVOPS methodology
• Agile DEVOPS methodology & Azure DEVOPS is a plus
