Job Description

The University of Evansville (UE) is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated Admission Counselor to join our dynamic recruitment team. Key Responsibilities

As an Admission Counselor, you will be crucial in shaping our incoming class. Your main duties will include:

  • Recruitment and Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment and admission plan for assigned geographic regions to meet annual recruitment goals.
  • Student Engagement: Interview prospective students and evaluate/review applications for admission.
  • Presentation & Representation: Serve as a representative of the University of Evansville, presenting information to groups of students, parents, educators, and alumni at high schools, college fairs, and other events.
  • Travel: Engage in required recruitment travel, including overnight stays and travel by air, serving the assigned territory.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with a wide range of constituencies, including students and parents.
  • Administration & Reporting: Assist the Admission Office with special projects, related tasks, and report weekly/bi-weekly on various admission and recruitment activities.
  • Flexibility: Be available for evening and weekend work as required during peak recruitment seasons.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: At least a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS).
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Technology: Strong technology skills on multiple platforms and the ability to use data to determine performance success.
  • Travel: A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively for recruitment.
  • Attributes: Highly organized, strong analytical ability, ability to work well under deadlines, considerable flexibility, and initiative. We seek candidates who are outgoing, creative, and enthusiastic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in student recruitment, admissions, development, or advising.
  • Preference is given to candidates with 1-3 years of admission experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms, as well as web and graphic design skills.
