Job Description

A leading national civil contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee projects. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on leader with a strong track record in heavy civil construction, particularly on complex, high-value public works projects. Youll join a company known for delivering landmark infrastructure developments across the country from mass transit and tunnels to bridges, highways, and water management facilities.

This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects that make a lasting impact on communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day field operations and ensure projects are built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and craft labor to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and construction methods to ensure high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Work closely with project management to support scheduling, logistics planning, and implementation of project procedures.
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain a proactive safety culture aligned with site-specific safety plans.
  • Ensure the efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment throughout project execution.
  • Communicate with owner representatives and provide updates as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years field supervisory experience, including at least 10 years as a Superintendent on projects valued at $200M+.
  • Proven experience in the construction of new civil infrastructure structures, including deep foundations, concrete, and structural steel.
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. construction standards, methods, and union trade practices.
  • Prior experience working with City, State, or Federal clients is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, and Procore (or similar platforms).
  • OSHA certification and current First Aid credentials.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
